Parkinson’s Fitness class includes exercises specifically designed to target the impairments related to Parkinson’s disease. With the goal of improving overall mobility, function, strength, balance and balance reactions, the program utilizes Parkinson’s Wellness treatment protocols emphasizing repetitive movements in a small group training environment. Parkinson’s exercise class is a great opportunity to exercise with peers, to improve mood, and to reduce your risk of falling. Classes are held twice a week and are led by Debbie Grossman.
This class is for people who require an aide, wheelchair, assistive device for ambulation or cannot stand from a seated position or perform exercises without assistance. For people who can get on the floor and up with the assistance of a chair or on their own, please consider the Parkinson's II class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1pm.
