Parkinson’s Fitness class includes exercises specifically designed to target the impairments related to Parkinson’s disease. With the goal of improving overall mobility, function, strength, balance and balance reactions, the program utilizes Parkinson’s Wellness treatment protocols emphasizing repetitive movements in a small group training environment. Parkinson’s exercise class is a great opportunity to exercise with peers, to improve mood, and to reduce your risk of falling. Classes are held twice a week and are led by Debbie Grossman.
For this class, the person should be able to get on the floor and up with the assistance of a chair or on their own. The person should be able to perform most exercises without an aide. For people requiring an aide, wheelchair, assistive device or cannot stand from a seated position, please consider the Parkinson's I class on Mondays at 2pm and Thursdays at 1pm.
